What Is Liquid-Applied Waterproofing and How Is It Done?
Liquid-applied waterproofing is applied in fluid form and integrates with the surface — the most practical solution for bathrooms, terraces and wet areas.
Liquid-applied waterproofing systems are cement-based or acrylic coatings applied in fluid form that bond to the surface as a mass. Unlike rolled membranes, they wrap corners, drain surrounds and setbacks seamlessly.
Where is it used? - Under tiles in bathrooms and toilets - On balconies and terraces - In pools and water tanks - On foundation walls (as a support layer)
How is it applied? 1. The surface is cleaned and repaired; cove fillets are formed at corners. 2. A primer seals the pores. 3. The liquid material is applied in at least 2 coats, crosswise. 4. Reinforcement mesh is embedded at detail points — drains, joints, skirtings. 5. Coats are left to cure; a water test closes the job.
Why choose a liquid system? It is seamless — it removes the overlap risks of membranes, and its thin build avoids height problems under tiles.
