A silent armor against earthquakes.
Every building's static calculation must face the earthquake reality. Carbon fiber (CFRP) retrofit is a modern engineering method that raises load capacity without demolition or lost space.
What is carbon fiber retrofit?
High-strength carbon fiber fabrics are bonded with epoxy resin onto columns, beams and shear walls. This millimetre-thin layer adds ductility and extra load capacity to reinforced concrete members. Application always follows a static analysis and an approved project.
Why carbon fiber?
Thin: indistinguishable from paint, no space lost
Light: adds no extra load to the structure
Fast: completed in days, no need to move out
Strong: mass strength close to steel
Application steps
Static analysis
A structural engineer analyses the load-bearing condition and prepares the retrofit project.
Surface preparation
Plaster is removed, the concrete is sanded and cleaned of dust.
Epoxy primer
An epoxy primer guarantees the fabric's adhesion.
Carbon fiber bonding
CFRP fabrics are bonded in the direction and layer count specified by the project.
Protective coating
Covered with mortar for UV and fire protection, then final inspection.
